First time here and it's good. Sushi is great and the food quality as well. It's a smaller restaurant but looks very clean and many seats. I ordered my food to go, which was done very fast. Girl at the cashier was kind when taking my order.
The portions of food were larger than I expected which is why I'm very happy with this place. Usually they try to give you less when you order to go at other restaurants. I'll recommend this place to anyone and everyone. -

If I could give this ZERO stars I would. My husband and I went in to try it out. We both ordered the miso ramen, chicken skewers and spring rolls. The sting rolls were decent. But the "ramen" was horrifying. The egg in it was HARD BOILED, ramen is supposed to have eggs where the yolk melt into the broth. The entire thing was overrun by seaweed. It smelled and tasted HORRIBLE. The pork belly was rubbery beyond belief. The noodles looked like they came straight from a pack of instant ramen, to be honest I would've rather had a $.25 package of ramen! The chicken skewers were also bone dry. When we finally flagged down the waitress we told her that it was something we just couldn't eat.... they charged us full price and didn't even offer something else!!!
Stay away from this place!! -

Off to a great start. Excellent Sushi
Someone told me about Sakura opening and since I had tried the sister location in Cornelius, I made a point of putting it on my list of places to try.
Drove over last week from work on the other side of town to give them a try. Amalfi's used to be in this spot till they moved across the Parking Lot but for reference, they are next door to Old Bob's BBQ
Walked and was immediately seated. Clean and new with a very comfortable atmosphere.
Ordered hot tea and studied the menu while I waited for my tea. Impressive menu and a variety of Hibachi and Tempura Style dishes along with an extensive list of Sushi options.
In the end I went with the King Roll.
Enjoyed my tea while I waited and checked the news.
The King Roll came out shortly and it was beautiful as well as being very good. Good blend of tastes and textures with ginger and wasabi served to compliment.
Size was perfect for lunch and I left more than sated.
A little hard to find unless you are familiar with Statesville but it's off NC Hwy 115 on the North Side of I-40 in a shopping center on the left about a mile up the road.
If you like Sushi, you will like this place. -

I was excited to try this place out, and I finally got to try. I ordered Double Trouble for $11; it tasted nasty, rice is too soggy. The portion didn't look like for the price I paid for as you can see it in the photo!

On my trip from Saratoga Springs to Ocala I was craving Sushi. Little did I know that that it would turn into a trial and error trip stretching over 40 miles of North Carolina! The first was a China buffet that around me said was a sushi bar. . Then yelp sent me to a Japanese sushi restaurant 35 miles away but in my direction got to them ordered drinks then noticed no sushi on menu, even though it said on door and their tee shirts!! They do not serve it any more but their other restaurant did, but did not! Finally I was sent to Sakura and that was magnificent!! Wonderful people and treated us great. Sakura in Statesville North Carolina. 5 stars and more!
